AHA Introduces New Formats for ACLS Recertification

The American Heart Association has introduced four course formats for ACLS Recertification. We call these, Standard, Fast Track, ACLS Express and ACLS Online.

Standard format (7.5 hrs) with lots of new information, lots of practice time and individualized instruction. We take whatever time is needed to help you understand and master the cognitive and motor skills necessary to pass this course. Have fun, laugh a lot, learn more than you ever thought possible at an ACLS class with our guarantee. You don't pass, you don't pay. That’s our promise.

Fast Track (4 hrs) for experienced ACLS providers currently working in areas where ACLS skills are used regularly. Participants come well versed in ACLS algorithms, drugs, rhythm recognition and have completed the pre-course checklist prior to attending the class. Get the latest updates, review the science and get to work on skills practice and demonstration. Students who do not pass this course will need to pay for a standard recertification course and pass that class prior to their current card expiration date, or take a full initial training course.

ACLS Express (1.5 hrs) provides no instruction, no review and no remediation. You must be up to date with all the latest information on resuscitation, know the guidelines and use them in your daily workplace. You will arrive with the completed checklist, pre-course assessment, current AHA ACLS text, and a current ACLS card. You will run 3 testing mock code scenarios without errors, pass a written exam with 84% or better and be finished in less than two hours. Call for additional information and to schedule your testing session.

ACLS Online Heart Code, Part 1 is computer based training from a CD that you run on your own computer. The CD provides training that you can complete at your own pace as you work through each section. At the conclusion, you will be instructed to print out a certificate that you bring to the last portion of a PACE ACLS class where you can complete “Part 2”, which is just the hands-on skills testing to complete the requirements for your ACLS card. Heart Code Part 1 is the only computer/internet based course that is recognized by the American Heart Association as meeting the requirements for receipt of an AHA card.
